Parrish, Benson, N.C., born in Johnson County, October 10, 1874; automobile dealer; member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Tampa, Fla.; Mason, Blue Lodge, of Benson, N.C.; director Benson Kiwanis Club, 1929; member of Eastern Carolina Chamber of Commerce; attends Benson Baptist Church; he started his business career as a retail grocer in Florida and as a manufacturer of soft drinks; came to Benson, 1917, as manager of Sanders Motor Company, where he remained until 1924, when he entered the automobile industry for himself, selling Hudson and Essex cars, which he is still selling at the present time; director of Benson Building and Loan Association, 1927-1929; mayor of Benson since 1927; director of the Tri-County Live Stock and Poultry Exposition; married Miss Lillian Hurst of Brevard, N.C., January 24, 1927; Mr. Parrish has been a lifelong Democrat.
