Transcription: Offices hold by Mr. Parrish: First Pres. of Citizen's Bank & Trust Co. Pres Kiwanis Club 1928 Director Eastern Carolina Chamber of Commerce. Chairman Board of Deacon's Baptist Church. His is interested in 2500 acres of farm lands. Mr. Parrish is owner and proprietor of the Parrish Hotel, Benson, N.C. He was in the automobile business for 19 years. One of Mr. Parrish's hobbies is dealing in livestock-especially dairy cows. Another of his hobbies is going to the picture show. He is president of the Benson Creamery Company. Mr. Parrish began business career as manager of J.D. Parrish & Son, 1897 to 1902; the firm changed to Alonzo Parrish, 1911; entered mercantile business as Parrish Godwin Company; president of Citizens Bank and Trust Company of Benson; director six years; organized Parrish MOrgan Co., 1925; large landowner, growing cotton, tobacco, corn; director Benson Building and Loan Association four years; Ford dealer nineteen years; owner Parrish Hotel; owner Benson Creamery Incorporation; member Board of Aldermen, Benson, six years; member Board of Education, Benson public schools; member Board of Trustees, Campbell College; married Miss Nellie Spence, Kiplan N.C., Daughter of R.T. Spence, December 13, 1898; have three children, Alonzo Jr., John Godwin, Mildred Louise. Mr. Parrish has been active in the community life of Benson during his entire residence in that place; he is an active Democrat.
