Mr Parker is a farmer raising cotton, corn and tobacco. Chairman of the Johnson County Republican Executive Committee 1918-1922 and member of state committee 1926-1928. Steward in Methodist Church, Benson and teacher of men's Bible class 15 years. Judge Ezra Parker, Benson, N.C. Judge Ezra Parker, Benson, N.C., born in Johnson County, July 4, 1889; Shriner, member and teacher of the Men's Bible Class for fifteen years. Judge Parker taught in the schools of Johnson County before entering the practice of law in Benson in 1914; he was president of his law class at the University of North Carolina, 1914; served as mayor of Benson, 1917-1919; and a second term of 1923 to December, 1924, when he resigned to accept the judgeship of Recorder's Court of Johnson County. He was re-elected judge of this court December, 1928, and is still serving. He served as chairman of the Republican Executive Committee, 1926-1928, served two terms in State Senate, Eighth District, 1915 to 1919. Judge Parker likes farming as well as politics and practicing law. Married Miss Lovie Dora Denning, Benson, N.C., December 2, 1914; they have three children; Ezra Alphonse, thirteen; David Henry, eleven; Levie Margaret, eight. Judge Parker has held many responsible positions given him by party, with credit to himself and the party. Judge Parker is a member of the Benson Graded School Board and has served for five years; he is also secretary to the board. Judge Parker was a member of the first graduating class of the Benson graded schools, and was president of the class in 1909; has been a member of the board of directors of the Citizens Bank & Trust Company of Benson for several years; served as attorney for the board several years; served as attorney for the receiver of the First National Bank of Benson; secretary of the Benson Creamery Corporation; director and attorney for the Benson Building and Loan Association.
