Description

Black and white photos is of the City Hall building in Kings Mountain. Built for $43,000, Kings Mountain City Hall found a home in the structure completed in 1937 at the corner of Piedmont Avenue and East Mountain Street. The building provided space for the recently founded fire department and library. Taken during the 1950's, this photograph shows Mayor Glee Bridges and fire chief Pat Tignor standing on the front steps. The building was demolished in order to construct the new police station on this site.
