Black and white photo is of the Kings Mountain Hospital. In April 1951, the Kings Mountain Hospital opened on Kings Street. Lottie Goforth bequeathed over $30,000 dollars toward the construction of a hospital in Kings Mountain. Goforth's bequest also helped to expand the Shelby Hospital. Within five years of opening, Kings Mountain Hospital grew from 24 to 50 beds.
