Description
Structure date pre-1850. Nathaniel Scales
(1756-1824) left Mulberry Island Plantation to his son, Alfred Moore
Scales. It adjoined Deep Springs Plantation on the Dan River near
Stoneville. It was also the home of Judge Thomas B. Settle, II.
Later owned by Charlie Penn and renamed Hawk's Nest. Large porches
are later additions. Located SR 2150 River Rd., Mayo
Township.
