Description

Owned and contributed by Houa Yang. This is a traditional necklace called a xauv. It is made of silver and usually worn with traditional dress during special occasions such as the New Year celebration or one's wedding. It is traditional for mothers to pass down a xauv, as part of the dowry, to her daughter when she marries. Houa received this xauv from her mother.
