Description

This scrapbook includes newspaper clippings concerning the activities of the United Fund and participating organizations during the years 1966 and 1967. The United Fund campaigned in Durham to support “community health, welfare, and youth services.” Participating organizations included the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Red Cross, Nursery Schools, Better Health Foundation, Salvation Army, Association for the Blind, Wright Refuge, John Avery Boys’ Club, Children’s Home Society, Edgemont Community Center, YMCA, YWCA, Family Service, Urban Renewal, Durham Social Planning Council, Legal Aid, Golden Age Club, Florence Crittenden Home, Mary O. Cowper Center, Child Guidance Clinic, City Recreation Program, American Hearing Society, Alcoholism Rehabilitation Center, Medical Research, Visiting Nurse Service, JFK Memorial Fund, Boys’ Club, Goodwill Industries, and United Fund Committees.
