Topics of particular focus include the North Carolina Art Society's ball to raise funds for the new North Carolina Museum of Art, the Artist's Exhibition held at North Carolina State University, Raleigh's first Artsplosure, and the high school literary contest co-sponsored by The News and Observer and The Raleigh Times. There are also several clippings on the Society's continued efforts to restore the carousel at Pullen Park, as well as several brochures on the Society's trips to various historic North Carolina sites such as the Biltmore Estate and Korner's Folly.
