Description

Scrapbook documenting the activities of the Raleigh Fine Arts Society between September 15, 1965 and June 24, 1970. Contents include newspaper clippings, pamphlets, invitations, and flyers. Topics of particular focus include art exhibits sponsored by the Society held at the Olivia Raney Library, events held in support of the North Carolina Museum of Art, talks done by North Carolina State University School of Design professors, particularly Joe Cox, and the partnership between the Society and the Executive Mansion and Mordecai, where many of the Society's members served as docents. There are also many newspaper clippings that focus on the changing role of women in society in the late 1960s.
