The 1776 Committee of the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons of North Carolina created this scrapbook to document the work of the Committee and to commemorate celebrations in honor of the American Bicentennial across North Carolina. S. Frank Nobel, Jr. (1975-1976) and Leslie H. Garner (1976-1977) were the Grand Masters during this period, and so collaborated with the 1776 Committee to organize celebratory events and publications.
