Description

This special publication seems to have two dates, either December 15th or December 16th of 1919 will be on the cover. We do not know the reason for the two different dates but the one that we scanned has the December 16th date. The Monroe Chamber of Commerce was behind this special edition as learned in the “Prefatory”. The publication, loaded with photos, is a “Who’s Who” of Monroe’s business and legal communities, as well as the public service departments such as Police and Fire. Prominent businesses placed large ads such as “The Jackson Mills” and “Henderson Roller Mills” and often included photos of their establishments. Some homes of the town were also featured and we note here that the lot our library is now on was where the home of A. M. Stack was, shown on page 29.
