Description

The Gant house once stood on the corner of Spring and Front Streets in Burlington, North Carolina. May Memorial Library now occupies this site. The land became a part of the renovated and expanded library in 2000 after being the site of Sears and then of Colonial Furniture. For a general history and genealogy of the Gant textile family, see: "The Raven's Story" published 1979 by Margaret Elizabeth Gant | "John Q. Gant Home" in Alamance in the Past by Don Bolden, page 25.
