Miles Meat Market was located on Worth Street in Burlington prior to December 1936, when it was sold to pay creditors. This picture was probably taken in March 1930 according to the calendar visible on the wall. Jacob Warren "Sonny" Miles was the proprietor and may be one of the adults pictured. He was born around 1896 and later operated Miles Grocery on Holt Street in Burlington. Photo is reproduced on page 33 of "20th Century Alamance: A Pictorial History" by Don Bolden.
