Rail locomotive built in 1877 and photographed around 1880 at Company Shops (now Burlington), North Carolina. The building in the background at right has been renovated as the Burlington, North Carolina, AMTRAK station and was constructed by the North Carolina Railroad as one of its shop buildings. It’s the oldest structure in Burlington and was built in the 1850s.
