Bowman George is a former city commissioner for Mount Airy. He was born and raised in the city and discusses his life in the town. He worked at the Mount Airy Chair Company before getting involved in politics in the town and served in the Army during World War II. Discusses having African-American people as servants in his home growing up and his father employing African-American men for his tobacco business.
