Description

During World War II, hundreds of Jewish soldiers stationed in N.C. came to Charlotte. Local Jewish families hosted the young men, offering meals and invitations to Shabbat services. Many soldiers met Charlotte Jewish women this way, married and settled here. Elizabeth Goodman (daughter of Katherine and Arthur Goodman, Sr.) and Walter Klein, married in June 1945.
