Marion Heineman Hirshinger holds her granddaughter, Marion Wadsworth Cannon, born in 1905. Her grandfather, Jay Hirshinger, was active in Charlotte civic activities in the late 1800s. He served on the school board and as both treasurer and vice-president of the Carnegie Library. Marion Cannon, a poet, relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee.
