Description

Transcription: Christmas and New Year's Greetings. Our family sends you very best wishes from a spot that brought us much pleasure during 1964--the new lake at Grandfather Mountain. We plan to build our summer home there during 1965, and you must come see us then. Hugh Jr., on the right, is layout editor of the Episcopal High School "Chronicle", and is playing JV football, basketball and baseball. He is 16, Judy is 18, graduated from St. Mary's, and is at Hollins. Jimmy, 13, is an 8th grader in Wilmington, and on his school's varsity basketball team. He was the first 13-year old in the 40 year history of Camp Yonahnoka to be made a Junior Counselor. Catherine, almost 7, is in the second grade. She was the only member of the family allowed to trout fish in the new lake in 1964, and did she love it. The red canoe is "Red Bird", which she named and claims for her own. Julia and High and the entire family hope you enjoy Christmas, and that 1965 is the best year ever. The Hugh Mortons.
