Description
The top floor of the courthouse, badly damaged
by the fire, required extensive rebuilding. J.L. Crouse of
Greensboro, submitting the lowest bid of $24,594, repaired the
damage. The complete cost to repair the building including heating,
plumbing, electrical, furnishings and a new clock totaled about
$30,000, paid for by bonds sold to Wachovia Bank & Trust Co. of
Winston-Salem.
