The one- and two-teacher schools in the county observed combined commencement day festivities in Mocksville complete with a parade, floats, and a program. The parade began at the school building on Cherry Street, proceeded south on Main Street, circled the community building, and returned up Main Street to the arbor at the Masonic Picnic Grounds for the program. The children either wore denim overalls and white caps or chambray dresses and white shoes. Note the well and well house in the foreground.
