Transcription: State of North Carolina To the Honorable Edmund Deberry Esquire, Greeting: IT having been officially certified, by the certificates of the returning Officers, hearding date the 30th day of August 1829, that you were duly elected by our seventh Congressional District, to represent us in the twenty first Congress of the United States, which commences on the th day of December 1829, and expires on the 4th day of March, 1831, you are hereby authorised and commissioned to claim and hold a seat as a Member of the House of Representatives of the United States, for the term aforesaid, and vested with all the rights, privileges, and immunities conferred by the Constitution on members of the said House. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, His Excellency John Owen our Governor, Captial General, and Commander in Chief, hath caused the Great Seal of State to be herento affixed, and signed the same at our city of Raleigh, on the 30th day of November, A.D. 1829.
