sister Carolina Cook from Mount Gilead, N.C. In the letter, Carolina
Cook mentions D.H. Cook having the mumps, provides some updates
about mutual acquaintances, and mentions the importance of religion
in one's life. Accompanied with the original small handwritten
envelope addressed to Mr. D. H. Cook, Richmond, Virginia, Co. K, 5th
NC Cavalry, Barringers Brigade. David Haze Cook was a past master
for the Blackmer Lodge No. 127 (1874, 1888-1889, and 1891) and was
C. J. Cook's son.
