A handwritten letter to D. H. Cook from his
sister Carmie Cook, the subject being D. H. Cook's mare being killed
and his coming home (from Richmond battlefield region) to obtain
another. Accompanied with the original small handwritten envelope
addressed to Mr. D. H. Cook, Battlefield, VA, Co. K, 5th NC Cavalry,
Barringers Brigade. David Haze Cook was a past master for the
Blackmer Lodge No. 127 (1874, 1888-1889, and 1891) and was C. J.
Cook's son.
