Interview done as part of an oral history project for Surry County Historical Society. Scott's daughter Peggy Scott Hardy was also present during the interview. Scott, who is a white man, was born in Shoals, NC and grew up on a tobacco farm. Worked for the state of North Carolina building roads starting at age 17. Went back to tobacco farming after World War II.
