The Brown farm stood at the site of the current Ingersoll-Rand plant. Kathryn Brown, Clayton Brown, and Meek A. Brown deeded their farmland to Masland Duraleather Company in 1960 which subsequently deeded it to Ingersoll-Rand in 1968. Mack Brown carried the mail from the depot with his horse and wagon.
