A letter and dispensation issued by Grand Commander F.M. Moye of the Grand Commandery of Masonic Knights Templar of North Carolina granting permission to the Raleigh Commandery to act on a petition of membership. My Dear Sir & Frater: I enclose dispensation as requested, which I grant with pleasure. I also send dispensation bearing date Jany 23th which you will understand. Sorry I am unable to attach seal, not having it with me. March 7, 1894 To the Officers of Raleigh Commandery No 4 Greeting: Know ye that, by virtue of the authority to me granted by the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar in North Carolina, for good and sufficient reasons to me appearing, I do hereby grant this dispensation, authorizing and empowering you to receive and ballot on the petition of Companion Z. P. Smith without the usual legal probation, provided such action be taken at the Regular Conclave in April, and the Sr. Knights notified of same. In the exercise of the authority granted by this dispensation I have full confidence that you will act agreeably to all usages, rules and regulations of Templarism and especially to those of our Grand Commandery and not contrariwise. Given under my hand and seal of office at Moyton Durham N. C., this 7th day of March, 1894 F. M. Moye Grand Commander.
