A Lonesome Place Against the Sky is a pamphlet created by the North Carolina State Department of Archives and History. The pamphlet takes a look at the preservation of historic North Carolina buildings such as the Palmer-Marsh House and the Dodd-Hinsdale House and provides a helpful guide to the historic places within North Carolina. In addition, the work discusses the development of the historic sites program and the Department of Archives and History plan to continue to grow the program throughout the 1970s.
