MacDonald Dixon served on the Board of Trustees from 1957 to 1971. He was a heavy lobbyist for increased state funding for capital improvements and instruction. He supported President Ridley in his efforts to grant bachelor's degrees beyond the Elementary Education major, and successfully presided over a newly-integrated Board.
