Sawmills were set up near mature timber, and logging took place in multiple locations in Camden County from Colonial times. Buck Island Logging Company was one company that supplied sawmills throughout Camden County with raw timber, which they processed into lumber and sold. This 1914 photograph shows one of many logging crews. The crewmen are, from left to right, unidentified, Wannamaker Boss, Peter Jones, and John Leary. Photo courtesy of Alex Leary.
