Description

The residence is a two-story log house with a hall-parlor interior plan built in three stages beginning in 1820 and ending in 1850. The house has a steeply pitched roof, massive brick chimney, boxed cornice with patternboard, six-over-six sash windows with plain and mitered surrounds, and an asymmetrical two-bay facade with an appended shed-roof porch supported by tapered and notched posts. More information about these photographs can be found on page 166-167 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
