Description
The photograph shows four adjoining buildings on the west side of the town's main street. The first is a tiny German-sided flat-roof store with a side shed addition. The second, a substantial one-and-a-half-story seven-bay gable-roof store with parapeted false front. The penultimate building is a two-story cement-block. The last building is a ruinous frame gas station with high-hip-roof pavilion. More information about this photograph can be found on page 171 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
