Other features of the house include a large stone-and-brick chimney and a shed-roof front porch that is supported with heavy turned posts and sawn brackets. More information about this photograph can be found on page 229 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
