Description

The residence is a vernacular one-story one-room log and frame house built in the 19th century with a massive stone chimney. By the mid-19th century a two-story frame Federal hall-parlor house with two asymmetrical bays was added on the eastern end of the log cabin. More information about this photograph can be found on page 247 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
