Description

The cabin, built circa 1860, was originally a one-room board-and-batten structure with a large rubblestone chimney and a detatched board-and-batten kitchen. In 1906 a two-story two-bay gable-front section with a diamond-shaped ventilator, scalloped shingling, and weatherboard was added to the structure. More information about this photograph can be found on page 284 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
