Description

The residence, built circa 1855, is a two-story three-bay wide Greek Revival style house with a hip-roof, complementary one-story center-bay front porch, an original one-story double-pile ell with central interior chimney, exterior end chimneys, wide molded and capped cornerboards, and bold wedge-shaped modillions under the eaves. It is nearly identical to Chatham County's DeGraffenreidt-Johnson house. More information about this photograph can be found on page 287-288 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
