Description

The main block of the house, built circa 1880, includes six-over-six sash windows in plain frames, a one-story wing, and a rubblestone chimney with brick stack. The north wing, which was added around 1900, has a stone-and-brick end chimney with four-over-four sash windows. With the addition of the north wing, the main facade conveys an L-plan configuration with a shed-roof porch sheltering a three-bay entrance. More information about this photograph can be found on page 290 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
