Description

The residence is a one-and-a-quarter-story frame bungalow that was built around 1915. It features a rich exterior surface treatment, unusual elongated plan, single-pile main block and double-pile rear section, symmetrical three-bay facade with a deep engaged porch with large projecting central dormer, German siding with contrasting wood shingling and apex crockets, three brick chimneys, bold knee braces that support the wide eaves overhangs, and long twelve-over-one sash windows. More information about this photograph can be found on page 307 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
