Description

The restaurant, built circa 1925, is a two-story three-bay Colonial Revival house that was converted to a restaurant in 1974. When the house was converted multiple wing and ell additions were made. The Colonial Revival features of the building include a pedimented trabeated entrance whose sidelights and transom contain leaded patterened glass, a second-story porch supported by tall square-in-section columns and surmounted by a sawnwork balustrade, six-over-six sash windows protected by paneled shutters featuring half-moon cutouts, flanking portico, and an open-string dogleg stair in the central hall. More information about this photograph can be found on page 334-335 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
