Description
The residence, noted for its distinctive blend of restrained Greek Revival features, is a two-story three-bay plantation residence. Features of the house include a hip-roof front porch with delicate arched brackets, pedimented gable roof, broadly arched porch brackets, cornerblocks embellshing window and transom surrounds, double-leaf central entrance framed with sidelights and transom, center-hall plan, modest open strairway, post-and-lintel mantels, six-over-six sash windows surrounded by heavy moldings, brick chimneys laid in common bond with high sloped shoulders intercepting each pedimented gable, and molded four corner pilasters. It was built between 1850 and 1860.
