Description
The residence, built most likely in the 1830s/1840s, is a one-and-a-half-story three bay house. It features a three-bay gable-roof structure with boxed cornice, two end chimneys with stone bases and brick stacks, hip-roof front porch, nine-over-six sash windows in molded surrounds, and a hall-parlor plan. After the house was moved a short distance in 1982, a new brick foundation, gable-roof wing, and end chimneys were added. More information about these photographs can be found on page 349-350 of the book The Architectural Heritage of Chatham County, North Carolina written by Rachel Osborn and Ruth Selden-Sturgill.
