Description

Interview with Evelyn Terry, resident of Winston-Salem and granddaughter of George Black, the nationally renowned brickmaker. She currently is the North Carolina General Assembly Representative for District 71. Reflection on childhood in Winston-Salem, time with her grandfather George Black at the brickyard, move to the northeast after college, and return to the area where she continued her lifelong engagement in sociopolitical community activism work. Interview conducted on June 18, 2022 at the Winston-Salem Juneteenth Festival.
