Description

In 1892, Mattie Eaton and Laura Clement opened Sunnyside Seminary, named after Washington Irving's home, Sunnyside on the Hudson. A grove of sugar maples surrounded the two-room schoolhouse of the private, non-denominational seminary, demolished in 1947.
