Three individuals stand on a frozen pond in Jonesboro. The pond was located behind the Shady Nook Hotel, also known as Shady Acres or The Birches. The photograph was taken around 1900 by C. A. Godfrey and donated to the Lee County Libraries in 1956. A story about the photo donation which included this image appeared in The Sanford Herald on January 14, 1956, on page 14.
