"The history of the North Carolina tobacco
industry as seen through the eyes of a young farm boy in Durham
County in the 1920s. Young Tommy Clemment travels to town with Coy,
a tobacco buyer, and while there meets an old civil war vet, learns
about the giant tobacco industry. Clemment, now an old grown-up,
talks about the changes that have taken place since he was a boy and
the importance of the industry in the U. S. today [in 1980]."
