Originally created for eight-graders. "Summary
of the Colonial period in North Carolina. Most of the film uses
still pictures including portraits, the John White drawings and
tempera or pastel paintings made for the film. Some scenes of
historical action are photographed including the ocean, swamp, and
buildings in Bath, New Bern,Beaufort, Edenton, Old Brunswick Town,
Orton Plantation and Old Salem." Description taken from the North
