The Mullet Wrapper is the Ocracoke Preservation Society's biannual newsletter detailing local events, membership, and preservation efforts. The publication gets its name from the local practice of using recycled newspaper to wrap fish in the market. Each issue includes a letter from the society's president, a list of current registered members, and an assortment of articles centered around local history. The Fall 2007 issue includes articles on Ocracoke being named the best beach in America, financial needs, and the securing of Ocracoke's last fish house.
