Description

This photograph depicts the home of William Lord London (1838-1916). London was a Civil War veteran, merchant, and a contractor in the construction of the historic courthouse in Pittsboro, North Carolina. He was the brother of Henry London, a prominent newspaper publisher. The historic homesite pictured was demolished in 1970. This photograph was donated by Lawrence London Jr., a descendent of William Lord London.
