Leon and Annette Dickens both recount their individual lives growing up in Roxoboro, North Carolina and Greensboro, North Carolina. Leon talks about his upbringing in Roxoboro, which led to him becoming a basketball player at a recently desegregated High Point College, now High Point University. Annette grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, dealing with desegregation and challenging racial predjuce with the KKK coming to her home. The couple meets at one of Leon's basketball games and fall in love, get married, and start a family. The conversation leads up to how they started their church My Faith look up to Thee Ministries.
