Scrapbook with materials related to the Sanford Junior Woman's Club's 1953-1954 year. This scrapbook was created using real blueprints for two historically Black elementary school buildings in North Carolina. An addition to the Spring Lake School in Spring Lake, Cumberland County, North Carolina, and the Mt. Gilead Elementary Colored School in Mt. Gilead, Montgomery County, North Carolina. The Spring Lake School is now Lilian Black Elementary School at 125 S 3rd St, Spring Lake, NC. The Mt. Gilead Elementary School is now the Highland Community Center at 131 Hoffman Rd, Mt Gilead, NC. The Spring Lake School addition was designed by William Henley Deitrick, Inc., Architect of Raleigh, NC. The Mt. Gilead Elementary Colored School building was designed by Page & Smith Associated Architects of 122 S. Harrington St., Raleigh, NC. The blueprints are dated May 8, 1950.
